First Turkchess Tournament was played with the support and sponshorship of Turkchess on August 2000 in Zone Rated Room.Cem Berk,doing very well till the final,has lost Cevdet Kızıl who is the Champion of Hasbahce Chess Club and Zone in 1998 also the owner of one of the biggest clans of Zone Chess,The Zor Team.During the final match Cem made a wrong move because of a techinical problem in his computer.This made Cevdets job easier and he took and easy win against Cem. Kabataş High School  B Team 4th Table Player  Sercan Yüksel with a good performance beated his oponent Çetin Mutlu who is the champ of Bolu.With these results Cem BERK  got the right to take the 2nd cup of Turkchess.
